Scytale, or "Skit" as his family calls him, is an odd little fellow. He is the youngest brother of the Dyssomniac Mercurial Leupaks, and following an experiment with an Alchemy Stone, ceased to develop. Despite that, he seems to be a normal Beta-leup in every way, except one. Skit has never uttered a single sound. Skit is often found palling around with his best friend, Errol, one of Dyssomniac's two Boralion and his fellow test subject in Kevana's Alchemy Stone experiment series. Errol tends to have more than enough words for the both of them, and Skit is entirely capable of conveying ideas in his own special way. Scytale is generally harmless, if a bit goofy, and very playful. He often helps Kev in her lab, and despite his small size, is chief of her team of lab-leup technicians and assistants. He is quite intelligent, and enjoys being cuddled, but he detests people who try to talk down to him, or who assume he is juvenile because of his size and frozen development. He is even-tempered, but has no problem taking a "dry bite" snap at someone who has really ticked him off. Errol's frozen development means he can no longer be affected by the Mirajin taint. Given that, and the talents provided by his own natural Leupak abilities, sometimes Skit and his friend Errol function as a pair of scouts, investigating mirajin and Mirajin-related issues for Kevana.
