[2:I:Ch14] Bad Nerves
Knitters are masochists. We are easily lured into the wonderful idea of creating something beautiful out of seemingly endless loops and twists, completely forgetting our faults: The frustration at dropping stitches, the cursing of the Knitting Gods at uneven increases and decreases. The horror, absolute horror, of dropping a stitch over a yarn over (nearly impossible to forget AND to fix). And yet we're always called back to it. The Siren Song. Lure us into the warm and fuzzy idea of a lovely, lacy shawl, only to bash us against the rocks when we get the stitch count wrong. So why do we do it? Because occasionally, we DO make beautiful things. http://ravel.me/greenhither/nuky6 _____________ Knit is rarely seen without his backwards brother, Purl. (info/4051283)
