Aeneski

The tallest of the Fair Folk, the Aeneski (ainsh-kee)--often simply known as elves among outsiders-- are often compared directly to humans (much to their dismay).
Typically found at a similar stature to their round-eared counterparts but with a more graceful build, elves are considered to Magic what humans are to Science, though they did not so much "discover" it as have an innate affinity for it.

All Aeneski sport a pair of long, graceful ears and jewel-tone eyes, though features vary based on nationality--most notably, Anshe elves have deeper complexions, more brilliantly-hued eyes, and sharper teeth than the more civilized Dremish elves, for example.

Elves can be found throughout Valenth, though not quite to the same extent as humans--they prefer to make their homes in wilder areas, shaping the land to their needs as opposed to hacking it to little pieces and putting them together again in odd ways (a practice many find simply barbaric!). Indeed, most aeneski are interested in the wild world to some extent, as their power is rooted within it.

Aeneski are heralded as great craftsmen, well-known the world over for their exceptional talent in leatherworking and metalsmithing, enhanced by natural magics. Elven armor and weapons are second to none in Valenth, and the Aeneski families who practice the Art pass techniques down through countless generations.

Long-lived and familiar with the secrets of the world, the Aeneski tend to look down their long noses at younger, "lesser" sentient beings--an attitude responsible for many a tribe war.

Their sense of superiority ensures that they are rarely the most pleasant of folk to deal with, beautiful or not.
