Middle Dreamsong is well-known for its flourishing woods and rocky mountain ranges; many Dremish people travel there during the warmer months to partake of its pristine splendor well away from the smoggy hustle and bustle of city life in the modern day.
However, most tourists know little of the area's ever-watchful guardians-- the gargoyles. Born of solid rock where earth meets sky, the creatures are content to sit still and observe in silence as their world literally takes bloom around them.

Typically shy, silent, and peaceful, MD's visitors this year have noticed the creatures wandering the countryside, keeping their distance despite an obvious, uncharacteristic curiosity.
A few specimens have been seen with strange tendrils of energy seeping from cracks in their earthy hides, though no one has yet dared to try for a closer look.
Silisk shaman living in the area urge tourists to stay well away from the gargoyles.
"Keep y'distance, an' don' do nothin' stupid," one elder said. "Tensions're high in th'spirit realm lately. Whispers o' earth and air plannin' somethin'. I wouldn' get involved, an' gettin' close is gettin' involved."
Asked for more of her thoughts on the situation, she continued, "gargoyles're elementals, y'no. They don't do nothin' t'hurt nobody unless somethin's up, usually y'won't even see 'em unless you travel deep in th'mountain paths. Now they're comin' up real close, an' some of 'em don't feel right no more. You see one, you get th'ell outta th'way, y'hear?"
Surprisingly, the Firestarters have not been seen in the area at all, leaving some wondering if the current situation with the rocky beasts is a mere natural anomaly.
