Book I Part II - Reverie I
The land was covered in a blanket of white as far as the eye could see; white petals fell from a blank, empty sky to settle upon the soft snow.
And yet, Elliot Christoph was far from cold.
She stood in one of her best suits, perfectly straight and composed beside a great fountain, water trickling from its spout even in the winter weather.
Quietly, she watched as a rose petal settled atop the palm of her hand.
She felt his eyes upon her, his breath warming her cheek.
She didn't move.
"Elliot..."
And he was there beside her, standing as straight and noble as she; his green eyes sparkling with just a hint of mischief, his hands folded neatly away within his pristine white suit.
His lips moved in time with her own, mouthing her words.
"No, Nefirian."
The Dreamwaker grinned faintly at the response to his unspoken question; his arms were folded now, gently holding a white peacock against his breast.
The bird dipped his head with a soft cluck, its long tail swishing against the snowy ground.
"Someday, you'll answer differently," the Chapter mused.
"Perhaps," Elliot said softly, her tone even.
"But then... how would you spend your evenings?"
