The Court's reach is limitless; nearly every nation that is, and perhaps every nation that ever was has had at least one Courtesan to watch over and advise its kings, emperors, lords and barons.
The tradition began with Lady Marquise herself, and has continued on through the ages, and until now has been one kept only by the Erosion dragons themselves.

They are the ever-vigilant guardians of the balance, ensuring that no one force ever takes hold of the whole of Valenth, even as they entertain and serve their charges.

A Courtesan's service is multi-faceted, all vital to the order. First is the time-honored art of entertainment; every Courtesan learns traditional dance or music, if not both, combined with traditional dress to please their charges and guests alike.
Far more vital, however, is service as an advisor and ambassador; by carefully guiding the leader of a nation, they ensure that its best interests are pursued... pulling strings to see that the Court's wishes are met willingly, as well.

Each Courtesan is assigned a single leader to serve; should anything become of them, or should the Courtesan be dismissed, they return to headquarters to continue their work among their kin.

In modern times, the Court has opened their doors to mortal members willing to serve as permanent assistants and apprentices to the draconic Courtesans-- provided they have the patience and discipline necessary to learn the delicate art of skillful diplomacy.

Exactly why is yet to be seen, but some believe that the Erosion have their attention on events upon the horizon...

Joining the Court

While on the surface the Court serve as ambassadors and entertainers for all willing societies of Valenth, their exact motives are not quite so clear.
Unlike other factions, true Courtesans are born, not recruited; the title is reserved for members of the Erosion dragonflight.
However, in recent times, they have begun to allow people of other races to assist them off the field.

The Court requires 150 reputation points to join; however, Court reputation takes longer to earn than than any other faction.
