=====Doctor's Ball=====
**Date** October 24th
**Country of Origin** [[Chimre]]
Originally created as a propaganda campaign for the [[SilentRose Silent Rose Organization]], **Doctor's Ball** quickly mutated into a massive celebration of all things scientific.
The people of [[LapsDuMent Laps]] soon began inviting colleagues, family and friends from around the world to take part in the original Doctor's Ball held there-- and before long, other scientists decided to take the party to their home countries, in the form of large public gatherings as well as smaller ones thrown in private homes.
Public Doctor's Ball celebrations are typically an extravagant costume ball of some sort, in addition to showcases in or near the ballroom with which scientists may display their recent work and research for a fee; some balls allow scientists to sell their wares or distribute free samples, as well.
Traditional Doctor's Ball foods are indulgent, extravagant, and provided in great quantities-- an unmistakable nod to Chimri culture-- and accompanied by a variety of wines and fruit punches.
Many SRO-friendly cities hold large annual Doctor's Ball celebrations, but the Ball in Laps-du-Ment is by far the most elaborate-- of course, being the holiday's city of origin.
