Element
An Element is one of the great driving forces behind the world of Valenth and the creatures and natural objects found within it.
There are two (tentatively three) Prime Elements, and four AlchemicalElements.
The Prime Elements
The Prime Elements are said to be responsible for the creation of living, thinking beings.
The two Prime Elements are Vitae-- the life element and the essence of souls-- and Mirajin-- the dream element and the essence of the will. Vitae and Mirajin are opposed to one another, and can cancel one another out, feed upon one another, and can even blend in certain circumstances.
The "third", Morte, is the essence of death; its status as a true element is debated constantly by scholars and Magi, as it is not found naturally in Valenth.
It feeds upon and corrupts Vitae, and blends readily with Mirajin.
The Alchemical Elements
The four Alchemical Elements are Air, Earth, Fire, and Water-- considered the basic building blocks of all physical objects, including plant and animal life.
Air and Earth are in direct opposition, as are Fire and Water; all other combinations are possible.
