The lodica is a newer invention of the [[MIRACLE MIRACLE Energy Co.]], created to serve as tiny, flying messengers. They are capable of playing and recording short audio messages and delivering them with great speed and accuracy.
Lodicas come in a variety of different models, typically resembling insects or small birds, such as hummingbirds. Each model is assigned a letter or phrase that refers to the species it was based on (H for hummingbird, D for dragonfly, W for wasp, etc.).
The lodica was only recently released for public purchase, and has already changed the face of Valenthian communication. They are used by companies, nobles, and kings as well as common folk to send and receive messages.
At the moment, simple mail is not under threat-- only a few seconds of audio can be recorded at a time, and each message musts be erased in order to record a new one, rendering it an impermanent method of long-distance communication.
