Mirajin

Mirajin is one of Valenth's Prime Elements, and the stuff of dreams-- a chaotic energy that forms and is created by the minds of sapient beings. It is believed that mirajin came into existence when the first intelligent creatures developed awareness and the ability to dream.

Pure mirajin, or miraplasm, is a viscous, bright magenta fluid when it first forms, though it crystallises into a clear, iridescent solid form over time.
Mirajin may be harnessed for use in magics involving both the conscious and subconscious, as well as chaotic and transformation magics. Without proper control and direction, mirajin can have catastrophic effects, causing major, chaotic mutation.
Processed miracrystal is utilised in the engineering industry, and is used to power machinery and automatons such as varani or lodicas.

For thousands of years, Valenth's ambient mirajin has been amplified by the Fatis Mirajin-- for which the element itself was named-- slowly radiating mirajin energy into the atmosphere of the waking world.
This malignant mirajin slowly warps everything it comes into contact with, gradually converting vitae in order to continue its spread across the planet.
