======Rot======
Rot is a [[Magic magical]] disease caused by unsafe exposure to [[Morte morte]], most often found in practicing necromancers and their test subjects.
It initially manifests as a deep depression and a vague sense of one's impending doom; victims lose interest in life, electing to cease doing anything but lament the futility of life. Family and friends are barely tolerated, if not ignored; hobbies, pastimes, and responsibilities are shirked.
At some point during this phase, death is imminent-- but the victim returns as undead shortly after their demise, typically as a [[zombie]] or [[ghoul]], though more wilful people may retain warped traces of their personalities.
All living creatures possessing souls are susceptible to Rot; there is no cure.

Over time, physical symptoms begin to show; inky green-black discharge drips from the lips, nose, and tear ducts, while injuries and wounds become more easily sustained and heal more slowly.
Eventually, infection and necrosis sets in, and the skin begins to slough off in places as healing ceases entirely.
