Sentient
A Sentient creature has free will and a sense of self; it knows it exists and is capable of thought and rationalization, marking it as a person, as opposed to a simple animal.Humans, Aeneski, silisks, leupaks, chimaera,Erosion dragons and Beast-Gods are all examples of sentients, while talstags, prrbs, cats, dogs, skids and land-drakes are not.
Ownership of a sentient creature of any type, for any reason classifies asservitude, which is controversial, but nevertheless part of Valenthian culture in many areas.
It is believed that rampant dragons may be sentient creatures that are incapable of speaking humanoid languages, as was the case with the Enxiryixxspider-people.
