The skid is one of Valenth's aquatic species.
Skid are a very popular species for scientific study of the effects of mirajin.
Many aquatic species seem to be unaffected by the powerful magical energies found throughout the surface world, and react swiftly and dramatically when exposed to them in experiments-- the skid is no exception.
In their natural state, skid are shy, tending to propel themselves away from percieved threats with a jet of black ink. This ink is prized for use as a writing tool.
