Talstag are a species of caribou native to [[Schalle]], prized as mounts and beasts of burden by the [[Firestarters]]. Their meat and milk is also harvested, and serve as important ingredients during the traditional [[Midwintre Midwintre Roast]].
Talstag are typically deep brown with cream or white accents, though black-and-white, red, and pure white specimens can be found readily in captivity.
In an effort to bolster the population, talstag breeders have introduced the deer to use as mounts worldwide.
